CDA-9887 strange problem

I have CDA-9887 for more than 1 year.

recently I have a strange problem , the CD player works fine but suddenly it stops , no sound , no navigation or even eject. when switching ipod controls work fine but CD player still dead.

I tried resetting HU but no luck too

Next day CD player works again , and the same suddenly dead and so on.

Any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem with my 9813. I get error when trying to play a disc but when I get that error, nothing works. There is no sound through door speakers or subs and the deck becomes unresponsive. As I said in my other post, I can maybe get it to work 10% of the time. I am currently debating on sending it in to Alpine for $95 or using that toward another deck. That deck would be the 9887 oddly enough.
