you mentioned it souded a little faulty...might be your components...I have an Alpin CDA-7894 and use the MX the bass is louder but sounds faulty too...and my components aren't that great..better than factory though

The MX on mine is great. I have the CDA-9813 and I love it. I don't have anything else in my car yet. It's all factory but it sure makes the music sound better than it did before.

I know this sounds stupid.... But what the heck is the rest of that stuff in that thing for? I need help understanding it. I tried to read the manual but I need laimen's terms it's too technical for me.

i wonder..

when not using your deck's features if that will decrease the amount of energy used thus make the unit not as hot.

my example is that i turned off the power source on the deck that would control the inside speakers.... does this conserve the "heat" that the deck would normally push?

i can't believe i'm asking this, lol....... (like it matters, its a freakin machine, lol)

mx digitally enhances music that has been compressed, when compression occurs from wav to mp3 some quality is lost. MX tries to eliminate as much of this as possible

MX on these decks are great, 2 does sound better than 3, but with less bass
