Hi,

My CD changer seems to have reading errors. It will play one or two tracks with a cyclic "woo woo woo" sound. It's a Sony cdx-u404 made in '93. I need to get it repaired.

Does anyone know what the problem would be?

Can i fix myself? How and what's needed

If not, where to get it fixed?

thanks,

sjsfiji

I would recommend to get on F.Book @ Old School Stereo and run a Want To Buy thread there. Im sure someone is hoarding one, maybe even a BNIB one...

Based on the age of your system, it may be a good idea to look for a new aftermarket unit.

I use these and they work great. I splice them right before the LOC. One leg on the negative the other on the positive.
