i just finished installing a kenwood kdc bt362u stereo deck and i have some questions about going ahead with amp/subwoofer/speaker install. to be honest i dont think it sounds as good as it should but i think thats because im still using the stock system in my 06 corolla. i have an alpine mrd-m501 amp and a pair of kicker 11s or 12s not sure. i know these work and sound clean. but that doesnt solve my speaker problem.

so here are my questions:

is using an amp this old even worth hooking new equipment to?

since this is being put together really haphazardly is there anything to consider when i decide to purchase the speakers?

will i even be able to install speakers without needing another amp?

would i be okay installing the amp/subs in the trunk now and do the speakers later or should i wait until i have everything else together?

since this is being put together really haphazardly is there anything to consider when i decide to purchase the speakers? If you just going to be running speakers off your HU you really won't notice an upgrade in sound.deaden your doors and sealed them up good will help out alot

will i even be able to install speakers without needing another amp? U can install new speakers but I wouldn't. I would deaden and treat the doors first.

Hell yea install woofers and amp and see how it sounds then get new speakers and a 4ch amp to power them.

well that settles that. i'll probably get around to it in a couple weeks. when i decide to buy some speakers i'll come back for advice. thanks for answering!
