Carpeting raised lettering, carpet keeps lifting, what HOLDS??

im trying to cover some door pods that are like 36" long, but have 6" tall 1/2" thick raised letters on the panel, the letters "CRX" , the problem is I cant get the **** carpet to stick down in the tucked areas around the letters, it just wont hold.

I tried using super 77, and contact cement....

How would you cover such thick letters and have the carpet hold to make tight clean looking letters?

Well I did contact cement, I applied it to all creases and corners on the door pod of the letters, then it was pretty **** hard to get a thin thin coat on the carpet without it soaking through (it eventually did when I was pressing it into the corners)

I let it tack for 10-15 like it said on the can.... and once i pushed it down against the other surface, I was still able to pull it up and it would still pull when pressure was used to tuck into the corners and the "O" in the R letter

I dont have no spray gun to apply this darn contact cement, and I only need to spray like a 6 X 12" area!! lol

The letters are 1/2" thick, so there pretty tall off the backing

The carpet does stretch, its pe.com cabinet carpet. I just need a **** tight hold that wont pull up

The carpet isnt backed either so it makes soaking through very difficult

hate to be the barer of bad news but 1/2" thick material is gonna be impossible to stretch carpet over with out it pulling up. you should be using 1/8" or 1/4", 1/2" is wayyyy to thick. you might be able to get vinyl or suede to stretch that much but carpet just isn't.

Ive seen people carpet some thick *** lettering on here, one specifically I remember was a guy that did the "DD" symbol and it was 2 thick D's overlapping and it looked perfect

Its fairly stretchy carpet, its just **** thin
