Add me to the list of "never returning" competitors because I'm sure as hell not paying $50 for one run ever again.

I don't know how many times I got asked "when does the competition start?", and I really didn't have an answer for them. There's nothing more lame than a stereo show at which you cannot play your stereo.

x2 I went Friday and Saturday and joined MECA as a member so i had over $100 invested in the show and than on saturday I even paid $10 for a second run! in the second run that I paid extra for, i beat for maybe 2-3 seconds before the amp shut down and I was thinking well sh!t maybe they will let me charge up and try again but nope, said sorry and went on, and sh!t there was still like 6 hours left and they had already done everone's SPL runs!!

jeez this show has been like this for years, most shouldnt be surprised and yet many will be back in spite of the lameness

When I did this show in '07, reruns were $5 and we did have some set time to demo, albeit only a few minutes. And we were allowed to have our cars on for the run (though that was in the broadbent arena which has a much higher ceiling).

The show wasn't what it once was. As I said on the MECA forum, how come when I walked through the rest of the show there were cars with their stereos on the whole day?

Attendance has dropped off every year as well. And who can blame them. Spending that much money on a show to only get one measly run and then afterwards you're locked in the building for 8 hours and you can't even hear other people's setups.

It seems as though the people who run casper makes rules specific to the meca side of the show just to make things less interesting/attractive.

I personally think it's time for MECA to move on, it's pretty evident that casper isn't too interested in keeping the meca side show alive and growing.

I rushed through a majority of it and it still took me a half hour.

If you really walked through everything and took pics, you could have spent a couple hours in the show part.
