cardboard or kevlar? (Crystal CMPX215 cone)

I recently took my Crystal Mobilsound CMPX215 15" to some shop round here. They took one good look at the cone and tapped it and said it was cardboard. I told his *** it was kevlar but he said real kevlar looks like it's "woven" like he showed me on the somewhat ugly 9900 DD 17" yellow %^$&$! The Crystal site says multi-layered Kevlar cone (it's mixed with plastic) and the DD site says Kevlar with Sapropolene(?) and I was just wondering (hoping) that the guy at the shop was jes a little high on sumthin' and that there is kevlar in them they're CMPX215's cones.

avoid local shops,they have no clue......

Crystal is not on the radar as much as alot of other brands,but they have

excellent subs and comps.......they arent cardboard

You're right excelerater. When I took it in there they had no idea who Crystal was or who the sub was made by. but what the hell I'll throw some pics up. besides I think I told Flakko that I would put some up when I got it anyway.

Looks kinda like the kevlar that was on the toes of my Nike tennis shoes back in the day.

mmm yea looks a lot like kevlar. maybe they put a coating of something to make it smooth or something (looks smooth to me)
