Size of location is irrelevent. Parks, lake fronts, river fronts, many many places are available in any city or location we decide to show up at. Doing a bunch of smaller events? Not gonna hapen unless we can get a good few to be able to show up at each. Hence this poll and how many people are trully interested in it and the thread and people posting their location and ideas. As is right now it is going to be ONE event, but is possible to turn out into a few different regional type events.

I like thwe detroit of Chicago idea, maybe even tha St. Lois?? This way shit is in mid of US and not so far from canada thatd riving is horrible, but not so close to them that southerners have a had tyme getting there too.

Alaxan first of all you ask people to post thier thoughts cause evidently you cant put this thing together by yourself. Sencond, size of location should matter you would'nt want to have lets say 400 car all riding around in some small *** city. Remember you cant do this by YOURSELF. And yes many many citys do have alot of parks etc... I never said I was going to do this by myself. If I did say that then I would not have posted anyting requesting thoughts and ideas. AS for having 400cars in a small *** town? Hell I know of a lot of smaller towns that can handle anevent that large and would love to have that many tourists pump a lil bit of money into them. Yes the event will however more than likely be held in a larger city. First reason being easier to get to! Larger cities will have more hotel space etc....and we can see depending on response as to what type of setting the event will be held in. (I.E. park, stadium, parking lot etc......) Yes I am trying to organize the event but NO I am not expecting it to function and be a success with just my input.

Detroit..........yes that is midwest........so is Minnesota........12hrs away from Detroit.......So far yes midwest is looking good, but I think Chicago is looking much better than Detroit. Yes I am driving to the event as well and owuld like to have it in my home state, but I am a big boy and can drive more than 10hours or so for this shindig. I am simply asking for input as to where everyone is from and or would like to hold the event. I did not start this thread so everyone could whine ***** and moan because their city has not been mentioned or thought of yet. Am I going to look into detroit and am I plotting out a map of Canada and where those folks are adn the U.S. and where these folks are? Yes I am and Detroit may or may not be a possiblity, but please do not cry about it here if we do not decide to go there. Once again! I am only trying to get a general idea of how many people are interested and where those people are from. I am marking and researching as to the MOST CENTRAL location to each and everyone so that more people can get to it!

I am not meanign to offend here, but please remember this is something a few of us wanted to do initially and it turned into inviting the whole forum and maybe if response is right into inviting another forum or two, BUT we would liek to have a location set by us and our members here first and foremost as this is a Caraudio.com forum member get together as is now. I thank everyone for their input and support on this so far and will keep all posted as we move along here!

sure there are some people in ontario (N of the state of new york and vermont) but easily half of the boards canadian population is in teh general area of the red dots i drew...

also, how the hell is Chigaco the "Midwest"??? look at the lines... teh Midwest SHOULd be from teh middle, WEST not freakin eAST!

dammit some people don't even pay attention to any body but tehmselves...

by making the get togetehr in teh EASTERN united states, rather than the CENTRAL US or hell, even teh west-central US, you are eliminating MANY of the possible attendees...

Good points are being made from all angles here. Finally the poll is moving a bit and we are getting some better response. Keep it flowin and keep the ideas commin. Sorry I have not been around so much I have gotten a bit tied up with work related stuff, but hey its all good and will be taken care of! Keep it flowin

well no one has yet to answer the question of how many people from canada are actually going to be interested in doing this??? if thereare more in canada than like 2 or 3 then it would be better to have it a bit farther north...and i agree chicago and detroit are still not really centeral us...more like north east/central....but if there are fewer people from canada then moving it a bit more central/south would be better....somewhere like st. louis, tulsa, kansas city those are a bit more central than som eother mentioned tho...anyways...im dont w/ my little gripe session

I have been speaking with a lot of the canadian group that are planning on comming down thru aol, yahoo and msn. There are more than two or three so far and it is looking to be like we will be a bit more up north. I am still seriously contemplating Minnesota here. Yeah ok I am a bit partial, but I am also looking into opening my own shop here and can guaranteed have a set location for us all (regardless of size). Plus!! I can then also sponsor the event thru the shop. It is more central U.S. than Chicago and Detroit and given the location of the Canadian portion of us that would like to come I think it could be more center. I am aware that most woul dlike to have the event only a few hours tops from their house, but we have to face reality......it is a 4-5day drive all the way across the country and a full day or two drive north and south in just the U.S. !!! It is not going to be totally feasable unless there is a MUCH larger turn out and sign of interest for us to do more than one event (i.e. NO regional events unless we have more people)

Anyone have any more thoughts? Opinions? Gripes? I know I have been slack this week due to a lot of work flow, but am back for at least the weekend and doing more idea planning and scanning for the gathering so keep em flowing!
