im form the worchester area of ma. im am seriously interested in working in the automotive audio and visual field when i get out of high school. i know a good deal about the stuff but i cant learn everything from mags. and the internet. i was looking for some kind of tec. school in the area that can teach me how to do everything? and i was also wondering if there are certifications that you need to work in serious car audio shops? and how do you get them? also what is the average pay for a good installer?

any info would be great. thanx for your time

There is a school and you had to ask because I forgot the name of it we had to go where I used to work. As far as pay, it varies when you start out you could get as little as minimum wage and probably will. One place I used to work the head installer made $50,000 plus but that was on a commission. It is hard to do that otherwise. Avg with some experience is 10 - 15 dollars per hour. If you are really well rounded with plexi, fiberglass, and knowledge of the like then you may make 20+, best thing to do is work up to a shop mgr and get salary.....
