Caps

What did I do now?
I hate people who think caps will fix their headlight dimming problem.

Don't people realize that a cap is just a band-aid for an already too weak electrical system. If anything a cap will cause your charging system to fail earlier.

IF your D@MN lights are dimming you need a bigger alt, period.

While a cap will TEMPORARILY make the dimming problem go away, it is also something else for an already taxed alternator to keep charged.

I also think Fords are the worst vehicles ever built. (just wanted to throw that in)

Vehicles from best to worst

1. ANYTHING GM

2. MOST IMPORTS (Honda, toyota, ferrari, lambo, porsche, etc.)

3. OTHER IMPORTS (hyundai, mazda, and other imitations)

4. DODGE

5. ANYTHING ELSE

6. FORD

And I thought this was gonna be a post about people who don't know how to turn off the Caps Lock on their keyboard...:p

In sales, reliability and durability - I'd say a reliable and durable vehicle is a good quality one - GM has been rated #1 for the past 15 years. Check out different magazines and stats Gm is on the top.

I had some bad experiences with a 91 Dakota so I don't think too highly of dodge

A few meanings

FORD - Fix Or Repair Daily

CHEV - Cheap Hudderite Escape Vehicle (but they WILL escape)

PORSCHE - Put Off Raising Spoiled Children, Have Everything

PONTIAC - Poor Old Niger Thinks It's A Cadiliac

DODGE - Drips Oil, Drops Grease Everywhere

you are officially a dumbass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif say the "N" word again and I will virtually kick your ass.

Most of the German manufacturers have the longest engine lifespans (of mass produced vehicles)... I saw it on the news a few months ago that Porsche was first (16.5 years), Mercedes-Benz was second (13 years), and BMW was third (11.5 years).
you sure Toyota isn't on that list somewhere??? I am sure that they are one of the most reliable vehicles around. I know that i have had my Toyota Pickup for 11 years now and have never replaced a single part, except the alt and that was just cuz it was too small. It is a standard and even has the original clutch in it. And trust me, this thing has not been babied. Still looks great too, i will have a pic of it up soon

how could you post honda as being better than dodge...oh my word, what's the world coming to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif :( //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif :( //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I know the Toyota pickups have the drivetrain of a tank, but we're not talking drivetrain (Transmission, engine, etc.)... we're talking strictly about engine life ...
Oh good sir, but it depends greatly on the maintenance of the vehicle and the driving conditions and whether or not you got a "good one" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I think Kia makes the best car overall!! Yeah right, I own one of their pieces of junk and trust me the things in the shop more than it's on the road. So much for their 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, they go through brake pads like nothing, I've had 3 sets in 55,000 miles and they only covered one set, I had to do the rest myself. Never buy a Kia. On another note, I went and ordered a Shortblock for the Mazda b2200, should have it up and running within a week or two. I thought the problem was in the head, but after diagnosing it a little more it was definitely the piston/rings. Since I only paid $800 for the shortblock, it made a little more sense to just order that instead of going through the rebuilding process. Take it easy

yeah, I guess you guys have a point on ford's being somewhat shitty. It's hard for me to face it, but two out of 3 of the fords we own are kinda problematic, the the third has had a few of its own. My dad had a Ford Taurus that he was lucky to sell for $750 a few years ago. It leaked oil, coolant, you name it. It stalled when we stopped at intersections. And, what was the most befuddling, is that my dad has driven like an old man his entire life, never using the brakes, barely ever pushing the gas. I drive a 93 Explorer XLT which I have been pretty pleased with, maybe because I haven't had to pay for the maintenance. It leaked coolant, so my dad had to get a new radiator a few weeks ago, which set him back a good $500. He also had to get the locks fixed on two of the doors, which cost him somewhere around $400 total. To the best of my knowledge, though, those are the only things we've had to pay for in my explorer, which is a good sign, considering it has about 145,000 miles these days. I hope to get another 30-50 thou out of the current engine, because I have put electronics in it that are worth about half of what the car would cost by itself. Anyways, I'm done with my ventilating.

I believe Ford is ****...... Dodge is ok....... Chev is pretty good

Now Hondas, this is my 2nd Accord......my first one hit 367 000kms......before I gave it to my cousin for his work car.....just regular oil changes and timing belts and replaced the brakes couple times and that was it......... Never replaced anything bigger than a oil filter on that car. So is my 97 Accord, drive the piss out of it everyday in the spring and summer......I could swear by Hondas and I think they are bulletproof.....too bad the new Accords and civics look like ****......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I honestly think ford has 2 shifts of engineers/designers/factory workers etc..that all swap out at the same time. One set designs and builds incredibly durable vehicles..the other set..well..*****. I've got a 97' F-150 Lariat w/93K miles on it.5.4 V8 still runs like a tank, gets decent gas mileage for its size, and has had NO..I repeat NO problems other than the flasher for my blinker on the left side sped up to abotu 1.5 times its old speed.

IF you ARE an American. Buy American dammit.!!!!
