I scratched the HELL out of my 500/1 the first time I put it in, not to mention some other abuse the amp sustained from screwing the rubber insulation on the wires down instead of the actual wires... I've since taken much better care of my stuff and I used some metal polish on my amp, but the terminal will never be the same.  I've learned that each new installation and box that you build gets a little bit better each time.  Good luck to you with the metal polish, I agree that it doesn't sound like a bad idea if the scratches aren't too deep.</p></blockquote><p></p>
