Capacitor!!

Hey guys I just bought a Lightning Audio strike 1.0 Farad 2002 series, they had it at sound domain. I was wondering the brackets, I tried installing it and sratched the plastic covering alot, and it kind of scratched the metal a little on one of them. What do I do? It will still work right?

Any way to get rid of these?

I want it to look good, and not see the scratches.

Get yourself some metal polish and an old sock, and try to polish the metal bracket out.

A polishing compound for car scratches sometimes works to get out scratches in plastic; as long as their not too deep.

Be extra careful and take your time when installing appearance items in your car. Not trying to get on your case, it's just that fixing mistakes like these is a real time-consuming pain, and sometimes they can't be fixed completely.

Good luck with it--Later.

HEY, YOU MUST BE A JUNIOR MEMBER AS WELL... I scratched the HELL out of my 500/1 the first time I put it in, not to mention some other abuse the amp sustained from screwing the rubber insulation on the wires down instead of the actual wires... I've since taken much better care of my stuff and I used some metal polish on my amp, but the terminal will never be the same. I've learned that each new installation and box that you build gets a little bit better each time. Good luck to you with the metal polish, I agree that it doesn't sound like a bad idea if the scratches aren't too deep.

I actually didn't have problems, just the brackets seemed to tear the plastic casing on the capacitor a little, when it went through it scratched the cap a little also.
