capacitor question

Hi,

I'm new to the car audio thingy and I don't know much. I was wondering if I can get my questions answered here :p Anyways here I go: I have a JBL Amp 1200watt (787watt RMS at 4 ohm) and a Kicker subwoofer 1200watt (600watt RMS 4ohm). Some friends of mine recommended me to get a capacitor, just to make sure it gets enough voltage or smth like that. So I was googling and found out that there's different type of capacitors. They're different in 'FARADS'. Well I dont know what that means but can somebody tell me how 'much' Farad I would be needing for my sound setup? I'm not planning any competition stuff, I'm just a casual car audio guy who wants decent sound in his car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Thx for your attention

Ok first off welcome to the forums man. now get your friends to register to this forum also and all of you go to the electrical section of this forum man and read about the BIG 3 , Upgrading your alternator & a 2nd battery and read the diffrences of battery's and what the BIG 3 does also . in other words man "DON'T BUY A CAP THEY ARE A WASTE OF MONEY & TIME"

Yea you will learn quickly that caps are no good, big 3 is a must for almost any upgraded system, and HO alts and extra batteries are highly suggested..

Also use the search button a lot before posting to many questions.. most of the time you will get reemed by people about it if you don't..

Either way.. don't buy a cap..

Andrew
