cani use regular PVC instead of flared?

i was looking at the aeroports and was wondering if I could just use regular straight pvc.

I am worried that the flare portion of the port will get in the way of the sub cutout. Or is the port including flare 4" ?

If I sanded the insides and outside edges of the straight pvc would that help port noise as much as flared?

use the flare is a good idea... the flare its self atcually helps with the flow...

im pretty sure the flare with the mounting flange is like 7.25-7.5"s and the inner flare w/o the flange is 6 1/8"...
