Canadian SPL - Wheres the good deals IN CANADA. Want SPL/SQL

I ended up not finalizing my order with Creative Sound and buying 2 SDX 15's because I wasnt really in the mood to wait 2 weeks backorder.

This is going in an suv, going to be powerred by 1 or 2 Cadence txa 1000'ds. So I can have either 1000rms @ 1ohm X 2 or 2000rms @ 2ohm X 1 if I strap them together

Im looking to make a SQL setup, I want it to sound good with the gain knobs turned down and listenning to korn/metal etc.

But want it to BOOM, when I wanna shake my teeth apart. I obviously want to go ported.

Maybe check the subs I was GOING to buy, they might still be my best bet, I was going to buy 2 of them.

Ive felt a good set of 15's on 500rms each before ported, looking to do better. What are my options. Trying to keep it cheap (under $550 shipped)

As you canadian guys know we get destoryed at the border with charges, so I was hoping there was some no name ontario dealers/wholesalers companies etc

What are you guys running?

came across these from mach 5 audio, $250 a piece, Id probly want 2 if it spossible I can wire them somehow. Airspace is a problem though, I dont have 7 cubes / sub ported. Maybe 8-9 total, max. Polly fill?

need options

MACH5 has some nice stuff. I say give them a try.

My set up is pretty much like what you want to do: with the gain turned down the subs blend very nicely with my front stage, but I have the ability to make them VERY loud when I want to....

Your Cadence amps are stable to 1 Ohm. If you wire the IXL-15's coils in parallel you will achieve a 1 Ohm configuration.

1 Cadence amp + 1 IXL-15 = volume

2 Cadence amps + 2 IXL-15's = more volume

Of course, at the same time you are looking over equipment, you are factoring in upgrades to your electrical system...

Ya Im trying to find the sub that will produce the most SPL and still sound nice for my money IN CANADA, so far its between the mach 5 audio 15 I posted and the creative sound solution SDX 15"

But I was hoping hoping for more options or someone to say which sub would be superior

I can tell the IXL is CAPABLE of high spl by looking at the spec, but yeah I just didnt know how well they would preform in a daily driver, with full rms wattage (maybe 10 min a day bumpin hard the rest is easy playing) and if it would hold up

There cheap as shit with that sale there having right now aswell

I also wanted to point out that, the SDX 15 has 30mm of xmax and the IXL 15" has only 22mm, isnt that a HUGE difference in an SPL woofer. Possibly meaning the SDX would hit harder with the same power and ported to spec.... ?

The $30 difference in price of the subs doesnt really bother me, i just want the better woofer

The higher excursion will certainly help you provided you can actually achieve that excursion with the power you have. You will note however, that some of the loudest subs available have a fairly low Xmax compared to those normally used in home theater setups.

Since you are listening to music and not watching movies, there is little requirement for your sub to reach down into single digit frequencies.

Best,

Mark

Im assuming I'll be achieving full excursion of the 2 subs I have listed being as that they are rated for 1000rms and I will be giving them that if not MORE since cadence rated there amps @ 13,8volts

need opinions

Just an //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Given the same size box and tuning as posted on the Mach 5 website:

- You will need 2,500 watts of power to achieve Xmax with the IXL-15

- You will need 3,700 watts of power to achieve Xmax with the SDX15

Xmax is used quite frequently with the home theatre folks as being 'the end all be all' of drive parameters. Not so much with music...

Best regards,

Mark
