can my elec handle a zx2500.1?

well i actually have a kinetik 1800. but i've been wanting to sell it. i had the same electrical with the kinetik on a xx collossus. you have a colossus also, have you ever heard a zx2500.1? you think the difference will be noticable?

since you have the kinetik, why dont you put that under your hood? I dont think you need an extra battery. you got the HO alt, which is gonna do a lot more than another battery. And yes they are very efficient, you should have no problems.

i heard of the zx, i've actually run the kx2500 in my car at 1 ohm its a current hog at max volume, but at 2 ohms you should be fine on music
anything thats putting out that much power is gonna pull a big chunk of current. my question is...how do you know its a current hog?

any voltage drop readings?

any current draw readings?

you cant just say that at leave it at that, when everyone else thats used them says they are one of the most efficient amps on the market. an analog volt meter gauge isnt gonna cut it either. we need numbers.

voltage drop, no pics... but I ran on previous electrical I have since updated from when I ran that amp
im not doubting you that the amp draws a big amount of current. im just saying calling it a current hog leads one to believe that it pulls more current than most amps.

all im saying is that without real voltage drop numbers or current draw readings, its impossible to say X amp is a current hog or vice versa

i should say Talon, that you are far more prepared as far as electrical upgrades than most people that post on this site are. i think you'll be absolutely fine with a zx2500.

edit: keep the kinetik //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Agreed, so are you trying to say that X amount of most people systems are not as prepared? Thats impossible...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

not trying to say this just because your thinking about buyin my amp but when i had a 90a alternator the zx was fine at 2ohm now if you plan on running it under 2ohm its a different story... these are very efficiant amps..do a search if you want more info

well this is just an observation. i might be wrong, but id say that a huge portion of people on this site spend tons of money on big wattage systems, yet only do the big 3 and think its gonna solve all their problems. most wont even consider a HO alt for $400 when they just spent $1k+ on amp+subs.

not realizing that a stock 90 amp alt only has the potential to put out 1260w total, as in including the cars electrical system.
