I reveived a Video IPOD for christmas and have an Alpine CDM-9825 head unit. Is there an adapter or a way I can use my IPOD with this head unit? Anyone else have a unit like this and use an IPOD with it? Can you let me know how you do? I don't want to get a FM modulator. I heard they are hard to get clear reception and a good station to use? Correct me if I am wrong on this though?

Thanks for your info and possible links to an adapter?

Ya know this is going to sound stupid? Does my head unit have aux inputs? I need to pull it out and look.

I will be doing this tomorrow after work for sure if this is the case. I was looking at this KCA-420i but if I can keep from spending $100. I am sure I have all the wiring laying around to do this if this is the case for the aux inputs..

Thanks guys!

ARGGG so it looks if it won't be digital the KCA-420i is the way I have to go....

Anyone else chime in on this issue?

Thanks

I have an iPOD video and a 9825 as well and this is what i did. I bought a cable that goes from the dock port to a set of rca's, then a cable that goes from the rca's to the aiNet plug. All you have to do is plug the cables together and plug the aiNet plug into the back of the HU, and DO NOT flip the aiNet switch on the bottom of the HU. To listen to your iPOD, just select the "AUX" setting on the HU by hitting the "BAND/TEL" button, and select the song you want on the iPOD. The volume is controlled by the HU and the iPOD acts like a cd changer. Pretty simple if you ask me.

I didn't really read what HU you have, and you have a CDM-9825, not a CDA-9825. DISREGUARD ALL THE ABOVE!!!

where did you get the rca to ainet plug at?

For sure, what does it look like? Is it just a earphone type jack or something like that?

If this is the case and the KCA-420i plugs into the same point? Does the KCA-420i convert the music to digital? This is where I am confused? The nice thing about the KCA-420i is that you can control the IPOD from the headunit and it charges it as well. This is a plus vs the plug senerio...

Correction, Sorry, my headunit is in fact the CDA-9825 NOT CDM.. Sorry about that.

Can anyone post the plugs and wires I would need to use to hook the IPOD to my CD reciever.

Thanks!
