can i plug and play other brands?

If you already got a wire harness for your current aftermarket deck, then it should work for the alpine, you have to wire the wires to the corresponding colors, and what it says in/on the manual/bottom of the deck.

The harness is for your car only, and is there to connect to the wire harness that comes with the deck the colors are generic, but the wire harness organizes the odd colors of the car's wiring. the wire harness is pretty much just a helper, but if you know which wires are which in your car, such as the on-lead, left/front speaker, ect. then it doesn't really matter.

The wire harness you got for your car matches the car's wires to a standard set of colors of wires that connect to the standard set of colors of wires on the aftermarket deck.

Simple, right?

Yeah, you gotta re-wire the harness of the new deck instead of the harness that connects to the old deck. The alpine deck has it's own harness that is wired to the wire harness for your car.

The kenwood has a harness that plugs into it, the wires are wired to a harness made for your car. Same with the alpine, but the kenwood harness will not fit into the alpine deck, you'll just have to cut the wires in between the two harnesses, take off the kenwood wire harness, then re-wire your car's harness wires to the alpine wire harness which will plug into the alpine deck.

the alpine wireharness should come with the deck.

lol I counted the word "harness" 12 times. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

This may sound like a dumb question, but if your using your Amps for Speaker and Sub powering, you don't have to wire your speakers into the harness since your using your RCAs correct?
