reapin is dead on. For the forum readers here that would like to share their knowledge without veering off into dimensions (competitionland) that I dream to be in but I don't have the $$$ for, I will recap:

Last time on the forum 6-7 years ago I did just that with the help I got here and even a local build that pleased me. was okay I guess, not sure if it was the box or the amp but the subs had good rep. i kept hearing good things about them but, I didnt hear or feel that low bass.. The metal roof did flex a lot and that's kind of what was heard more than anythinf, never knew why! For what the box, sub's and amp setup, big 3 included, guess it was all I was going to get for a budget setup. Would be great to hear some feedback on that old thread also, since this is what I'm aiming for but 'room' for improvement because of my slightly better amp and few more bucks to spend=) Here's the thread: Enclosure Build for Local

There are way to many variables to say if a single is better. If money is a concern it might easily be. 1 $500 15 normally can out do 2 $200 12s. Not always but it can. The better sub will be the better sub.
