Can i hook my car speakers to my home theater system? My home amp has 8ohm impendence. If i hook up a speaker to two seperate channels will the amp blow? I think it should work but just checking.

I don't think you want 2 channels to one speaker.. that won't work I don't think.. If you had one channel to (2) 4 ohm speakers, you could probably wire them to 8ohm.. you would need 4 speakers instead of 2... (unless they are dual voice coil 4 ohm.. then you can wire each to 8 ohm)..

I could be wrong.. Anyone else?

the standard for home audio speakers is 8ohms...

you could take two car speakers (4ohm each) and wire them in series to get an 8ohm load, out of one channel of course

how do you wire in series if they are component speakers with a x over?

im not exactly sure if there is a change in the standard resistance with component speakers, but if there isnt, then you can wire them in series like you would two normal 4ohm subs,

from amp, + goes to positive on speaker A, - on speaker A goes to + on speaker B, and - on speaker B goes to - on amp (or home receiver)

hope i helped some, but you might wanna double check the resistance of the xovers
