Can a SA-8 handle 800rms?

And should I just run one or 2? I've got the Massive Audio NX5 already, 800rmsx1 @1ohm. Should I stick to running 2 SA-8's or go with one?

run both. i wouldnt give my sa 8 800 rms unless it had the flatwind coil. i give mine about 500 daily and it takes it like a champ. clean power of course.

i fed mine a tad under 800 and it didnt like it due to box size.....with 400 a piece tho u can go bigger box

the sa 8 will reach its thermal limits before it hits its mechanical limit.

in a .7 cube box at 35hz, you would be fine with 1 on 800, but if you can fit them, id do both in a 1.7cube box

1.7 would be too big. they would prefer more around 1.3

not for only 400rms each, you can run a bigger box. im running 4 in 3cubes each at 34 on an AQ2200 at .5ohms and they dont even come close to bottoming out.

have either of you actually dicked with a sa8? tried different boxes? im gonna assume not. i also had 2 in a 1.6 cube box on 2k, that was a bit much power, but on 1500 it was fine.

ive had them for a few months now (the quad set up) i had the 2 about 8 months ago, and those 2 are still being used in the quad setup

Just curious. I like to do them in no bigger than .75 myself.
