i got a simple question. i need to take my car apart to install second skin. however, i will do it by pieces, first trunk, then....

however, i wanna take my amp/sub out of the car, but the power wire will still be there. what's the best way to take care of the power wire without having to remove all the power wire?

i was tihnking of probably disconnecting it from the battery, but it will just be hanging somehwere in my engine bay. is this safe? also, the other end (trunk) will be exposed, once i disconnect the power cable from the battery, is tehre still some current or voltage in the cable that may cause a short circuit in the trunk if it touches bare metal ?

Just disconnect it at the batt. It will be fine.

so either just disconnect it from the battery or just take the fuse out?

would there be a charge in the cable after i disconnect the power?

how could there be if you have no capacitor or the wire is not hooked to the battery?

dunno, dat's why i am askin

cuz i mean true when you disconnect the power there should be no power. but eventually i believe there would be some small current or voltage in the cable until it's discharged. n maybe that small charge may cause some sparks. that's why i am asking.

A cable is simply a conductor. It has no ability to hold any charge. Once you disconnect it, it may as well be a piece of metal lying on your floor board.
