The vehicle is a 05 Dodge Ram 3500. My setup is alpine CDA-9887 head unit feeding into a Audio Control EQL then to a 300/4 v2 bridged to the C5-653 component set. The sub amp is a 500/1 v2 fed from the sub output on the 9887 going to a single 12w3. I also have a set of vr525 cxi in the rear doors fed from the built in amp in the 9887. I just got the C5-653 hooked up and found out that one of the 6.5 was already blown on the right side. I sent that speaker back for a replacement. I replaced it temporary with a old 6.5 MB Quart and finished rta tuning the system. I noticed that there was a dip on the right side at 315hz was the only problem I had with the curve but when I combined the 2 channels it went away. It sounded great but yesterday I noticed a 4" mid on the left side wasn't playing. I thought I blew another speaker but this time it was the crossover that was the problem. I got the gains set after equalizing at 24.4 volts ac on the 300/4 v2 with the head unit vol at 30. I have never had this much trouble with a car audio product. What am I doing wrong? Is this a common problems I'm having? What can I do to avoid this again?
I'm having trouble with my JL C5-653 3 way component set.
