Don't know if this has been discussed but I am looking for mainly SPL subs. I have 3k watts to work with (Massive Audio p3000.1). I don't know if the TC3k is more spl or sq but I need them to be able to play music too, not just fart cannons. So I came down to these two subs. Which would be better for daily but at the same time, louder for competition?

I was in the EXACT position a month ago. i went for the HD3. i still haven't heard the TC, but my HD3 sounds great and gets loud. and with 3k watts, you're probably better suited for the HD3.

you can give the AQ's nearly 5kw...(daily)their cooling system is what limits them...

i don't know how much you can throw at ssd's but I would go AQ
Does this mean the hd3 will or will not take the power for 9-12 hour trips at close to full tilt (@ 3k watts)? What happens if it gets too hot?

i imagine it willfor a while i dunno about 12 hours...

like i said in the other thread...it can take quite a bit of power and ask for more...

while making you deaf...

same thing that happens to all subs that get too hot...it will fry...

you will wanna turn it down though for some of that trip guaranteed...

that or you will have a massive headache...

you do that though and you will be deaf, i would guess...

not the brightest idea in the world.
