Buying Online

After shopping both online and at local shops in the area, I have concluded that buying online (after paying shipping costs) would actually be more expensive than buying from local shops (even including most installation fees). However, I've noticed from reading posts on this forum that a lot of you guys say buying online is cheaper. Whats up with that? Even Crutchfield doesn't offer that good of a deal on anything but lower level products. Im looking for some good mid range amps and subs. Any suggestions?

Looking for two 10 or 8-inch subwoofers and a decent amp to power either setup.

warranty since most of these stores are not autorized dealers

x2....if you break it on an Ebay item, you have to possibly pay freight, and get no manufacture warranty.
