Buying A Db Meter.

i dont mean cheap like $10 or something, i meant where can i find a deal on a decent db meter. how much do tl's go for? i would even settle for a ac. its not for bragging rights or anything, its for my own testing. thats why i dont NEED a tl, but if i find one fairly cheap then hey why not. meanwhile i gonna check that link out above.

just checked that link, how accurate is the one that reads 150db?(splmeter dbm2) or has anyone used them? not a bad price.

AC is the Only one used by IASCA,USACI,MECA and SLAP. I think it would be a bit out of your price range.

i was of the impression that the tl was the most acurate. i dont do comps, and rarely see anyone get metered. so if i thought wrong, well hey, what can you do, i dont have much experiance in the db measuring area of car audio.

Sometimes used termlabs go for $450-$600 on ebay from time to time.Termlab is the way to go and worth every penny.

Goldline 162 (160 db meter)

This is the one I own....ive tested it against the Term-lab and found that the goldline read 1 db higher typically.

There's a reason everthing is compared to a TL, it is the best consumers can afford. Not many people have the $10k for a B&K.

TL uses a sensor, not a mic.
