Even if Google loses a case, they can file bankruptcy and that doesn't mean you are finished.

It shouldn't happen but its amazing how far negligence can be stretched. I still think that the investors themselves are the negligent ones for not doing further research...but I guess when a companies value drops that far that quick somebody has to pay the price so it doesn't happen again.

First of all, Google has the best lawyers EVER. Secondly, they're at no fault. Their program did what it was written to do... find popular articles and show them to other people. Since it was a "daily" what's new kind of thing, at midnight it got wiped and we all know the story.

Point being, it was up to the reader's discretion to look deeper into the matter...

Like everyone else is saying, it's the readers fault for being idiots and not checking the date.
