BTL and HD3 in terms of SQ?

While I know both of these subs will get loud, how do they compare in SQ? I listen to mainly rap, but every now and then some heavy metal or some classic rock like Zeppelin. I was just wondering how they do with rock and some other fast paced bass lines.

i'm sure they may not sound like mags but won't sound close to audiobling junk...

Meh, since Mags were mentioned, I say go with one or two of those. They will get plenty loud on the right power and excel on pretty much any kind of music.

i'm just saying that even tho these two subs are considered spl subs, they're shouldn't lack on sq that much as well...

unless you're looking for excellent sq, you shouldn't be disappointed with either...

i believe that the HD3's would have more of a sq musical side because it has a greater Xmax.....

That has nothing to do with a driver's SQ. There are plenty of low xmax sq subs.

The BTL sounds just fine. Do not expect it to be an SQ sub because it isn't. But it is quite musical. Unless you are an SQ nut and as long as you put it in a daily driver type setup, I seriously doubt many would have issue with its SQ capabilities.

dont know if this helps but i thought the type r was more musical then the hd3. the hd3 just hits the lows harder but not as musical.
