i recently bought a re se12, i connected it to a kicker 08 zx 1000.1 @ 4ohm. i set the gain using the voltage method[60HZ @0db]. i wasn't receiving enough bass so i jacked up the bass boost [ did not go and re adjust the gains ] THAT SUB WAS SOUNDING SO GOOD AND I LOVED THE SPL .the wire that goes from the leads to the cone is messed up,sub not working.when i did the voltage test i figured out i was throwing 1200w at it . i can spend the money to fix it but i will just break again.

i got a total of 3.05cuft [.75 mdf included] .

i dont know if im better off getting a sealed sub like the re mx12[1.2cuft] or a ported sub like a re sx12[2.0cuft].

i was thinking maybe i can do 2 ported re sx12 @ 1.5cuft each.

im leaning towards re audio subs because the se12 impressed me so much in terms of Sq even when overpowered.

my budget is for $500 or a bit more if its worth it

I NEED ADVICE PLEASE [ right now im using a L7 and i hate the SQ of that sub]

get a recone from teampsi dave on here. he can build you a recone that will handle the 1200 watts. he will just use a better spider probley 2 and it will save you alot of $$$ and sound good...

i reconed a se 10" and can throw 1800rms @ it!
