bringing prescription pills onto planes?

I am heading back home to NY very soon and I have some prescription painkillers that are not for me that I need to bring along (for good reasons). Friend suggested I get one of those plastic day by day pill separators and fill it with vitamins and those pills. Should be alright?

Any ideas?

That will work or you could get an old pill bottle with your name on it and put them in there

i took a bunch of seroquel on a plane with me. from KCI to LaGuardia. Just throw them in with a huge vitamin pill bottle and shake it up.
