Hi, I just want to ensure that my understanding of amp bridging is correct. I plan on getting the following amp: Pioneer GM-D8604 Class FD 4-Channel Bridgeable Amplifier - Pioneer Amplifier - Amplifiers&Cable | Sound Tech New Zealand. If I am correct I should be able to bridge 2 channels to get 300w at 4ohm for my sub which is SVC 250w RMS at 4ohm? Does this means I can then run the front speakers off the remaining 2 channels (not bridged) at 100w 4ohm? or when I bridge do 4 channels need to be consolidated down to two channels? This is where my understanding is lacking. I have been told that running a sub and front speakers off a 4 channel amp is not a good idea and the sub will not live to its potential. I actually already have a mono amp for the sub (from a previous vehicle) so its really about choosing a 4 channel amp (for 2 speakers and a sub) or a 2 channel one (for just the speakers). If I can just bridge the 2 channels for the sub, then what watt range should I then look for in the speakers? Make the most of it and try and get close to 100? Anything to note about this that I may have missed? Cheers
