breaking news: ortiz and ramirez tested positive for roids in 2003

wait till Rickey Hendersons name comes out. Canseco hinted at it and hasnt steered us wrong yet.

steroids increases speed and reaction time thus lets batters make quicker adjustments. that and all the extra strength, all those balls that were supposed to wind up on the warning track gone

HGH and IGF-1 are very good for healing tendons and ligaments. These also cause new muscle cells to grow. Most people stack an anabolic steroid with HGH or IGF-1, IGF-1 more commonly as this is what most people are taking now because it is much better than HGH. Anabolic steroids cause the maturation of muscle cells. Hopefully you can see why the two would be stacked together. AS also cause enlargement of internal organs, as well as HGH. That is why you hear of some people having "roid gut" or GH gut. Manny was not found positive for an AS, but an off-cycling drug. Most likely nolvadex. When you take AS and you begin your off cycle, you have to do a PCT(post cycle therapy). Because of the huge increases in testosteron caused by anabolics whenever you get off of them your body will try to make mass amounts of estrogen to compensate for the excess amounts of testosterone. As most people know, estrogen would cause you to lose all your gains while on AS, and could cause some serious side effects in males. So using a drug such as nolvadex, which was actually created for breast cancer patients, prevents a binding of estrogen to your reciptor cells. The off-cycle normally lasts as long as the AS cycle, slowly decreasing your dosage of the nolvadex, or other PCT, as you go.

i think 97 percent of all homerun hitters in this era were juiced. only one that would suprise me is if griffey jr. was doing roids.
Add Frank Thomas to this list. I really don't think anyone has ever suspected him of using anything, and he's the only one to ever willingly take a test to prove his innocence.

steroids gives you a very healthy confidence which is a great ballplayers best asset. shit makes you feel like a god
Steroids actually cause you to feel bad, nausious, and of course angry. They can cause problems with your liver, kidneys, stomach, intestines, and heart. IGF-1 must be what you are thinking of.. it's almost a perfect supplement especially the new LR-3 version... 3x stronger with 13 more joined amino acids.

Have you taken steroids? I haven't, but I've taken tons of pro hormones when they were legal, and it makes you feel like you could pick up a car and throw it. There is a reason people inject steroids, and that's so they don't go through pretty much everything you listed.

Kind of sad, because if Griffey/Thomas were some of the legit guys then you really don't get a feel for how great they really were.
How do we really know they didn't take anything? I've always liked Frank Thomas and had him ahead of most players today regardless of steroids.

prohormones are actually worse than AS, as they have not actually had field tests on humans. For all we know the side effects of PH's could actually be worse than that of AS. And your feeling of "being able to throw a car" was from increased levels of testosterone that can cause high blood pressure. Most PH's are known to cause sterility as well. And I was referring to extended use of them for years and years of constant abuse by bodybuilders and other prof. athletes. Studies also show that once these people get off of AS and if they do not currently have any internal health problems, their bodies are capable of returning to normal in 18-24 months. All their levels of test., BP, etc are all in normal range after 18-24 months.

To answer your question however; no I have not taken any AS to date. I am currently 19(too young) and am training to be a bodybuilder on the side as I am currently getting my engineering degree from the university of south carolina. I do know almost everything you would want to know about the illegal supplements. not really considered illegal in the bodybuilding world however. I am currently 5'9", 190 lbs, 10% BF. my goals are to weigh around 220-225. I would love to get there without the use of illegal supplements, but in the sport of bodybuilding that is highly unlikely due to all the peer pressure from everyone around you.
