well i was coming home from work today and i was bumpin down the highway and all the sudden the sub just cut out. i was on the way to the bank and was pretty much there so i just pulled into the parking lot to check things out. first thing i checked was teh sub and its just fine and dandy nothing close to frozen or anything. then walked over to the amp to see a nice red light.. wasn't bumping all that hard at all. so then i checked the fuse up front and its good as well.

heres some more specs on my set up.

RD 1750.1v2 - settings on amp are probably 1/2-3/4 turned up...

RD 18" Alpha v3

1/0 knukonceptz wire with 250A ANL Fuse

big 3 w/4 gauge

10 gauge speaker wire

ground wire on amp is about 5" long and is grounded to body of car where paint is scratched off

heres a link to my build thread to help things out

really hope this amp isn't already blown..

if you guys have any trouble shooting tips lemme know i got a multimeter i could go get some readings from. thanks for any help guys

usually if my amp goes into protect its from low voltage and i just turn the car off and turn it back on. and why did u even bother doing the big3 with 4ga? also whats ur voltage drop to?

Have you unhooked everything but power, ground, and remote to see if it comes on ?
i unhooked most of it but didnt really get to test it. i was in a hurry tonight and never got a chance to fiddle with it but im gonna see whats up tomorrow morning. i unhooked the rca's and power then hooked power back up and got a green light but i think as soon as i hooked up rcas it went red.

voltage drop has gone down to 11 at some times but i was driving down the highway and it was getting at least 13+

haha alright guys sorry about this. my dumbass self didnt even noticed the half *** like 18 gauge speaker wire i was using got smashed and was short circuiting the sub. got it all fixed up with some 8gauge real speaker wire and its pounding even harder than before!!

anyways thanks again for the help guys. just glad it was a really simple problem and solution!
