I have my current knob right next to the center armrest so my hand is closer to that than my headunit.....

You can always just wire up a switch to your remote wire. Kill the whole thing instead of having to adjust the gain (I prefer to set mine with an o-scope and leave it alone).

Nah I never thought you were tryin to be. I've just gotten use to this way. If I used my remote like I should, then I wouldn't have to worry about it.
