Hi there guys,
Well... finally surrendered to the 9887R. Used to have a budget pioneer P55BT and it served its purpose at the time, but wanted to go a bit higher (mainly because there´s only 2 pre-outs, and my setup is 4 + sub, so i had it all in mono lolol) and the crossovers are passive (low/high).
Nothing wrong about the pios, have a bunch of amps/dvd at home and at home i guess they are the best at quality vx price.
I´ve heard a lot of pios, including the P-88R. Their sound is tipically warmer, but that would mean it is already moulded somehow, and the alpine sound is cruder, thus more workable to each ones taste probably.
But from trusting my ears and reading a lot in here this is a totally new ball game. Still didn´t get to test the imprint tuned sound (waiting for a vacancy at the local installer site lolol)
So heres a few questions i have;
- I saw on the 9887 review at http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum thread some pics showing all blue keys lighting, and u can read "type 1". Is there a way to get the blue on blue.? lolol can only get blue on red or on green, how did he pulled that off?
- The user manual goes to great lenghts to explain the principle behind the TC (time correction) to miliseconds (ms). But then the option parameters to tune it are in cm or inches.. so if i wish to tune for front seat driver which values should i enter firstly for the L-F (my dist to door left speaker is 40 cm and the back right speaker is 140 cm).? probably 140-40 = 100 cm? it´s not very clear. and what about the R-F, R-L and R-R, always relating to the L-F (40cm)?
Also because the sub is in the trunk, could i just consider it the farthest speaker, or should i not count it in for the measurements.?
- The 9887 has low, mid and high crossovers. My setup is of course 4.2 on the switch, and the speakers are all coaxes, front and rear, so no separate tweeters here.
The low will cut freqs above the entered, the high will cut freqs below, but what about the mid/band pass.? will it cut higher then the showned freq or lower.?
- I prefer the sound coming slightly from the rear, but i can´t fine tune correctly the crossfires sx-69. the boston amp rear outs dont have high pass, only low, which for those is of no use to me (the front out has high pass, which should be good for the front speakers i guess). So the sound gets higher from the front, and i would prefer otherwise (not talking about fader), a i can´t raise it too much mecause low freqs will start to go on the back and too much of them the crosses just dont like it.
Would you have a suggestion in how to setup the low/mid/high crossovers.?
Thks guys!
