box=teh brokez dallas guys.

if your boxes dont break apart from liquid nails then its not loud enough. ive built bunches of boxes using it and when i finally got something loud it would always break the seams apart. i tried to ln the basket back to the motor on my pbx and that didnt hold up too well either

well im driving home like 10 minutes ago, and i just happened to put my hand on my box, towards the bottom. it turns out the front pannel has broken free. im not sure if its been like this or if it happened the other day when my box fell...
my question though, will the sub be fine in the box like this for a while until i build a new box, as long as i keep the volume low?

also, dallas guys when are yall meeting up again, cuz i really need to get that box done now haha......
i dont think we will have one for a while. Justin (Jntar) is/has moved to Houston now, we use to have all build days over at his place in Flower Mound. We can try to have another one maybe at someonelses house. But if you need help with just a box contact Joseph, ~Magick_Man~.

really? so a pushing an L shape wall one direction using both feet while sitting on the other and having the seam not come apart means its weak eh?

someone doesnt know what they're doing...or maybe my 2 15" off 2.5k power wasnt loud. who knows...

if it broke you didnt use enough caulk in the first place. when i was tearing my old boxes apart, each and everyone of them broke in the middle of the mdf before the seams ever flinched. liquid nails works very well. supposedly wood blue works better but eh....
if the front broke free, id be weary of the rest of the seams as well
if it broke its because the caulk was used.

you dont use caulking for a speaker box.

wood glue and some silicone is ALL you need.

breaking box's does not mean your loud. it means your stupid and don't know how to build an enclosure correctly

i dont mean caulking like the kind you use for bathroom moisture barrier type stuff, i meant liquid nails. like i said i dont doubt wood glue works better, i just dont see a point when all my boxes hold up fine, and i only need to buy lliquid nails to build and seal my boxes instead of wood glue to build, and silicone to seal.

i used gorilla glue on it, but i didnt have any clamps to get a good seal, i guess thats why, but ive been wanting to build a new box for a while now so this just gives me more reason to do it...

i guess ill be doing a build log pretty soon...

and while im at it, how do aero ports work? like do i just take the cubic feet of the box and decide what i want it tuned at and then figure out what size/lenght i need to get the desired tuning?

never used aeroports but im assuming since they already have a preset port area you just use that in your equation instead of making one up yourself. everything else is pretty much the same id assume. the wall thickness is a little different too and it will change your port wall volume slightly i presume, but im sure itll be a very small difference.

btw, gorilla glue sucks blue balls.
