hope im not hijacking the thread but i am very interested in learning how to make my own home theater sub.. I m wondering if it would be ok to just replace the sub from 5.1 home theater system from sony say like S3360 since it got 3 hdmi inputs.. I would like to replace the subwoofer with my own one.. is that even possible? and would the power from the receiver be enough? or i would have to purchase a separate amp for the sub? also do you guys put the plate amp on the sub box itself or what? just trying to learn here and would love to make one in near future
