I also always hear really great SQ subs that DO change their tonality and control at REALLY high SPL levels ..... In other words , regardless of what the manufacturers say , I have not heard even one sub do both SPL and SQ equally well ..... This Boston sub is the first one that actually does both equally well enough that i would be happy owning it for EITHER purpose.I went with sealed due to wanting to see just how tight the sub would be able to play with that HUGE surround and long excursion. Once i heard it though , I realized that gaining any extra output  with a ported enclosure would just be stupid loud unless I was competiting with Burps .. HTH</blockquote>
