Boston G5 or IDQ

I am adding a sub to my system and need some advice. I am currently running a set of Hertz components off a JL 300/2 with an Eclipse 6610. I want a good SQ sub. I am considering the Boston G5. I have also heard (read) nothing but good things about the IDQ v3. The only thing is that I have never actually HEARD the IDs. What are your opinions when comparing the two subs. Probably going 1 10 with JL 500/1. It's going in a Pathfinder.

ahhhhh, thats a hard one. the IDq is one of the most thought after SQ subs. as far as i know they dont due to well on more then there rated power, but there is no need realy to give the more then there rated input. the G5 certinaly can stand its own in the SQ department, but they do have tne potential to have more out put then the IDq. i would say the differance in SQ would almost be undetecable to your everyday "audiophile". the Boston gets my vote as the better all around sub.

Hence the purpose of rated power. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks for the replies. I do like the G5. Probably what I will go with. i know I won't be disappointed. Just curious about the IDQ. I guess if I don't hear one I can't know if I am missing anything!

Indeed! The G-5 is very rich in sq. I just recently decided to get one myself. Like you, I have heard alot of good things about the IDQ-V3 but have never head one. I don't think you can go wrong with a Boston.
Just curious, what amp are you using on it?
