its not made by boston acustics, its a sub with a boston passive radiator on it. It basically has two surrounds so it can get good excursion. I would like to see how it sounds on music though i bet the transient response isnt to good.

Anybody can design a subwoofer to have good Xmax

But Xmax is only a piece of the puzzle. Just because you have Xmax dosent mean you will get loud or sound good. There are many more factors.

how would anyone hear it ? the people that made it used parts from several different woofers to make them and was planning on showing it to companies once they had something actually worth a ****. I think they gave up on it quite a while back... it's merely a custom woofer though, very very limited run and no.. no one has/will hear it.
