"blame the deed, not the breed"
very simple words, one that ppl need to let sink in deep.
i, too, am a pit bull owner, and breeder. my blue pit female, queenie, is about the most gentle, loving house dog i have. i can't wait till i get my blue male outa her.
anyway, between myself, my broinlaw and his parents, we have seven pits, 5 are breeders. only one is trained to be aggresive and he waits for teh command to do so. all of them are nothing more then big lap dogs, but not by looking at them.
diplexer is right. they are actually one of the most non aggresive towards people dogs you can own. it's how they are handled that accounts for their reputation. again, just like diplexer stated, due to their strength, confidence and stamina, they are some of the best and most feared fighting dogs on the planet. but by nature, they aren't even close.
i own 4 other dogs, all pure bred. my two meanest, my other house dog, a lil terrier who has bitten everybody that has come thru our door except us, and our akita, who wants to bite everybody but us. my pembroke welsh corgi and my bassett hound could pretty much care less about the world except when it's eating time.
adn to say jsut because two ppl have had pits turn on them that all pits will..take this into account. the only dog i've ever had turn on me was a chowchow. i shot that ***** right then. my broinlaws chowchow, my chowchow's brother, i shot two days later for turning on them....both house dogs and spoiled rotten. turned for no apparent reason. so going by everyone's pit logic, i guess it's time chowchows get banned? they won't, they're to fuzzy and cute.
"blame the deed, not the breed" ...this animal racism is stupid.
