I have not decided on brands yet, but wondering how this sounds for a layout?

I have a 1998 bonneville that I would like to spend some money on, was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers?

My plans are to dynamat all 4 doors, the rear trunk deck and the frame behind the rear seat back. Then install one tweeter, one 4” speaker and one 61/2” midbass driver in all 4 doors. Two 8” competition subs in the rear deck, two 10” competition subs in the seat back frame and one 12” competition sub in the middle of the seat back frame. Restructure the seat back to allow sound to travel freely yet still provide support (could use some tips here for sure).

Powering everything with adequate amps and processors, I would be channeling all the right frequencies to all the right speakers. Custom built box(s), I’m thinking five sealed boxes bolted to the seat back frame, trunk deck and structurally secured to the trunk floor.

I’m not into rap, so I’m looking for sound quality and really hard hitting bass.

I guess that’s about the just of it, any thoughts?

yes...that many "competition subs" in one car will shatter your windows instantly

"competition" isn't a valid classification of a subwoofer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

just messin with you

Haha, these guys are screwing with you, and given the material you have provided, I usually would too. You do not need more than one size woofer. You do not need a 4" speaker and a 6.5 in each door. At most you need 1 6.5 per door. Then in the trunk all you need is either 2 10s or 2 12s, whichever you can fit.

Look at the classifieds for subs that are good. Look around for amps that are good. Try not to get flamed. Try to learn.

you're new to this...don't ask me how i know...

but my honest opinion is for you to install a nice set of comps in your doors, just a nice set in the factory location powered by a 4 channel...then run some coaxials in the rear and a single sub in the trunk

forget your entire setup....

put 1-2 good 12's in the trunk, some nice comps in the front doors, good coaxials in rear (if you must have rear fill), and leave it at that.

but before you go doing all this, read ALOT about box building, baffles, deadening, ohms law (if youre unfamiliar), wiring options (parallel & series), and anything else having to do with installs. dont go installing anything soon, just READ, read ALOT, so you dont fvck it up and put a bunch of junk in your car the wrong way.
