blown tinsel lead on my re audio se12d4,please help

Hi everybody,

I'm new to caraudio.com forum . I have a question that i hope some of you guys can help me with. I have a re audo se12d4 which the tinsel leeds are bown. I called re audio & was told that they woulld have to recone it for $119.00.

I'm not sure if it's worth it or not to recone it?

I was running it on a jl 500/1, in a sealed box

I really like how low this can go plus the sq is nice as well.

I do have a type r 12 which i dont care for at all.

I put my jl audio 12w6v2 back in but i'm not crazy on the tonal sound of my jl either, comepared to the re audio.

I've been looking at the audioque sdc2.512d4 to replace the re audio se

my question is,will the sdc2.5 sound as good as the re se?

my price range is $200.00

i've searced for comparisions about the two without much luck.

i will be using a ported box

i dont care how loud it is just how deep,clean it will sound.

I have a scion tc so everthing gets loud with a hacth.

my head unit is eclpise,

cdt audio es drt tweeters, & es01 tweeterrs

aurum cantus mids 7 dvc 8ohms

I like it clean sounding as well as deeep lows

A lot depends on the box.... you may like the sound of the RE sub the best just because it happens to work well with the box you are using while the others do not....

Give us a little more detail on your 'blown tinsels'... maybe some pics... you might be able to fix it yourself with a soldering iron and some patients..

the recone isnt worth it. their not much more than that new. forget the audioque if you plan on using your sealed box

Like said above, it aint worth reconing. Buy a new one if u wanna stay with RE SE. Personally I love the SEs. Try to find u a TC-9, I have one 12" now. Sounds low and clean, as well as loud.

yeah i miss my re se, but i'm not sure if i want to invest into reaudio again.

I'm thinking of going ported again so thats why i was thinking of audioque,

I've heard good things about them.
