Blown Fuses

What are some reasons other why a fuse will blow other then being old and having too much power? I blew my fuse on my amp today so i went and bought another one and the other one blew too. The amp was working fine for over 5 months and then i took it out and put it back in a couple weeks later to see if it would turn on and it did. Then today i put it in and it turned on but then turned right off and the fuse was blown. Anyone have this happen? Need some help with this.

I went into the hospital for a bit when I had to get an operation and my system was just sitting for a while. I had ordered an ipod adapter and got my brother to install it while I was still in the hospital so I wouldn't have to do it when I got out. When I got home to try it out my highs wern't working so I checked and the fuse was blown. I kept putting new fuses in and it kept blowing them. We hooked the amp up to my friends display board at the shop and it let the magic smoke out. I would be careful if it keeps popping fuses.

Nope... Was a Tsunami dB4440. (Also this was back in Aug of 05') I got a quote of $100 locally to fix it and I was like f that... So I emailed Elemental Designs and they gave me the phone# for Avionxx and they told me to send it in when they heard I told them the price to fix it here. I sent it in and was waiting for a quote to fix it from them and got a knock on my door. They fixed it and sent it back express for free..... to Canada! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Can't beat that for service.

Funny, when I called avionixx I couldn't understand one ****ing word that the guy was saying.

I don't know how it blew its power supply. Its just been sitting in my room just chillin. I hooked all the wires up to the amp and then when i put my fuse in by my battery the fuse on my amp would pop and when i went back to check it was blown. I'm gonna try it again after xmas is over. I'll just go buy another fuse and see what happens.
