Blowing fuses?

Ok so my buddy has a TA7801 going to a L7 12 with a 4 gauge run to it. The amp can take 1/0 so I told him that it would be important that he upgrade. He then found out this fact when he was blowing fuses after beating out for a while on high volume. Well recently he told me that just as he turns his car on and amp lights powers on the fuse will pop. This wont happen all the time. He hasnt changed anything in the back and I checked all the connections. The amp even works fine when it doesnt blow after replacing the fuse. Im just going on a ledge here, but does this still have to do with the small wiring in it. Cuz this problem doesnt happen every time.Which cant figure out that either. What size fuse? Agu? Maxi? ANL? Midi? How much power does this amp do at the ohm load you are running it at???

the fuse is too small....get the 1/0 and get a 250A to protect the line....

It's AGU 80 amp fuse. He is running 1ohm at the moment. I told him before he bought the amp that he needed 1/0, but I guess he wanted to find out the hard way after blowing almost dozen fuses. I went to his house today and had him order the Knukonceptz 1/0 klm kit. I have order this same kit for 2 of my other friends. I have to say I'm impressed good quality for the price. Oh and even the kit ordered today and the other 2 I had them get 250 amp fuses.

Fuse is to small Go for a 150maxi or higher and you will be golden.
