BL recomendations pleas

eD 12Q...
if there's any definition of something that's "overmotored", that 12A-on-'roids is the perfect example of it. Only one ever built, I've lost track of who owns it.
LoL... Have You been exposed to Shocker's? You want to talk about over motored? ROFL

The AV12's are not what you'd want for SPL competition. Unfortunately most companies don't have it right when it comes to offering woofers for SPL. Since you are going to burp at or around the tuning frequency, and up higher in frequency, the woofer really doesn't need to move much. It needs to excite the resonance of the port as much as possible. To do this you want lots of motor strength and more cone area. Something like a Lambda TD15H is a great option. The efficiency is in the 94-95dB range at 1W, phase plug gives lots of heatsinking, copper faraday for low distortion, you have more cone area with a smaller surround, etc.

More than anything though you need to know the transfer function of your car. You need to tune to where you have the most cabin gain. A single TD15H with 300W can easily get you in the 155dB range or higher depending on vehicle.

The AV woofers are more just a general everyday use woofer.

'Tis quite a bit of power...15kW is pretty respectable //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I would love to have that kind of power but I dont:( Orion 2500D 2500wrms@1ohm but Im not getting evan that with stock alto and impedance rise of enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Why? Because You didn't bother to post this earlier, did You? Also, so that he could stop spreading poor info. Bare in mind, this was when all You quoted from him was "more BL to excite port resonance".

That is all.

Here's a thought

If the woofer's don't move as much when burping...how did scottie used to rip the tinsel leads straight out of the connectors on the brahma's? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

They move, trust me.

copper faraday for low distortion
x2 on the WTF.

I thought Stryke Audio was somewhat respectable, at least they used to build good drivers...were they bought out by the barbarian horde when they became AE?
