But the poor can chose more financial responsible places to get medical care other than the emergency room. There are clincs that provide medical assistance to the financially needy ( and I have no issue with this)...the problem is, many poor are not choosing those avenues, they are choosing more expensive ones.

Why dont we just give every criminal the death penalty? Or why not cut off a hand when someone steals something? Why give aid to foreign countries? Why do you give to charities? Why should we teach good morals? Why should we have good morals? Why should we give a shit about anyone but ourselves? Why should we have compassion for others who are struggling?

What amazes me is the number of people who claim to be Christians, yet are more concerned with being able to eat a $40 steak instead of a $20, than they are concerned with feeding a starving man a $1 loaf of bread. Universal healthcare is horseshit because fatties, drunks, druggies, bearers of mass amounts of booger eaters, etc will clog up the system and cost loads of money while responsible people get nothing in return for their investment.

Unless the government regulates the fatties we should not enact universal healthcare.

Here's a fact that you have to accept though. Universal healthcare will dimish the quality of ALL healthcare so EVERYONE gets shitty healthcare.

It would turn large hospitals such as the University of Davis' system in to what the local clinics provide today.

Oh, and the rich people have to still pay for it while the poor get it for free.

In my scenario, yes. That's one less poor person leeching off of me. In today's world she would get treated at the hospital for free on her end, but my medical rates would increase 13% next year.
