I am still a noob when it comes to things like knowing how much a sub can take daily above rated power. To the best of my knowlege, The sub in question is rated for 1000 watts rms, 2000 watts max. IMO, if you plan on running 3 times the rated power DAILY to a sub(or any amount over rms rated), then there must be a little voice telling you you MIGHT break something due to abuse. I have no idea how many HDC3 subs DJ has sold, but evidently there is two of them that failed due to the abuse mentioned above. I don't believe nate was dissing AQ, but simply showing us his bad fortune when running them at 3x rms rated power daily. As many of you here have testified, even DJ admitted on his website you CAN burp these during comp at 4400+ watts each, But you will smoke them if you are not careful. From what I did read in this thread, I am wanting to buy 2 HDC3 15's even more...due to the astonishment alot of you have shown due to nate's misfortune. I have a aq2200D at home awaiting to be put to some good daily use.....just my 2c //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
