that's a little overboard. 1200 is a little much for 1 R. i have 1400 or so on 2 and have to keep the gains down considerably. 500-800 is plenty, 800 being better.

I disagree

we may not agree, but i had a viper d1200.1 on 1 and it was too much. technically, you could put 5000 on 1 if the gains are set right, that doesn't mean you need it.

wrong.....5000 watts is 5000watts..nothing to do with your gain.

missing the point. you can put much too large of an amp on a sub if you don't clip it. my point is that he doesn't need 1200 rms for 1 type r.

i agree whole-heartedly about not needing that much power...but your 5000 watt statement needed correction
