Best amp to power my DD 1508? (newbie =|)

I purchased a DD 1508, and will be putting it in a custom ported box in my 97 Supra.... The only problem is that I haven't figured out what amp to power this sub with.... I've thought about the JL 500/1... but I've got mixed reviews on it...

Can anyone give me some suggestions on what kind of amp I should purchase to power this sub?

500/1 or one of those PG or Alpine amps that do great power at 1-4 ohms
